Join us for YMCA Healthy Kids® Day on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 11am to 2pm at the Siskiyou Family YMCA. This is a free family event for the entire community. Put Play in Your Day and join us for a Passport of Fun! Learn tips and get information on how to make your family a Healthy Family. Local vendors include Yreka Police Department, Yreka Fire Department, Siskiyou County 4-H, the Siskiyou Sled Dogs and the Siskiyou Family YMCA. Our annual “Y” Weight Challenge, formerly the Biggest Winner weight loss contest will start on Saturday, January 16, 2010 and conclude on Saturday, April 10, 2010.  This will be the 5th year of our very successful 12 week weight loss program.  The program is open to all residents of Siskiyou County who may sign up as an individual participant or as a team of four.  Throughout the contest, participants can learn helpful tips on nutrition, exercise and the benefits of getting and staying healthy during one of the educational lectures offered during the 12 weeks.  Fitness challenges, guest lecturers and weigh-ins every 3 weeks will get you on the right track to a healthier, more fit You!
